AIBD-MI Mission Statement

The American Institute of Building Design – the Michigan Society (AIBD-MI) is a nonprofit professional organization of building designers established in 1992.

The mission of AIBD-MI is:

• to promote the development of member building design professionals through their acquisition of skills and knowledge;
   
• to enhance the practice of these professionals through providing continuing education and movement towards their certification as a Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD).
   
• to protect and enhance the right of our members to practice effectively in the State of Michigan through partnering and working with like-minded trade, governmental, and professional organizations; through active participation in legislative processes; by providing supportive products and services; and by engaging in public relations to communicate our high quality standards in the design and construction of residential buildings.
   
• to hold our society and its members to the highest ethical, professional, and quality standards as incorporated in our Bylaws, Code of Ethics, and educational requirements.

to accomplish this through our chartered relationship with the national AIBD.
